Description
Cakebread Cellars Merlot 2009 reveals enticing notes of ripe black cherry and plum compote with nuances of vanilla. This plush and rich wine is produced from Merlot that is grown predominately in northern Napa Valley with 7% coming from the cooler Carneros appellation. Blending Merlot grown in these different microclimates creates a rich, ripe wine that is well balanced by a nice acidity and bright fruit notes. Cakebread Cellars 2009 Merlot is incredibly lush with flavors of black cherry, pomegranate and dark plum with its fine tannins giving the wine a long finish.
