Explore Diverse Italian Wine Styles
Italy is synonymous for its heavy hitter red wines that stand up to a hearty bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. Brunello, Amarone Della Valpolicella and Barolo are all well-known classic Italian appellations each with a distinct style. Power, structure, juicy dark fruit backed with oak influence and the ability to age for years makes these popular bottles.
The Millesima team has curated bottles for the Italian Classic Wine Gift Set from three of the top wine regions in the area: Tuscany, Veneto and Piedmont. These bottles are truly the classic wines that come to mind for an Italian wine lover. Enjoy the range of this wine selection that transports you to the heart of each region.
The Italian Classic Wine Gift Set contains three unique bottles: Mocali is one of the benchmark producers of the Sangiovese grape, producing a diverse lineup of lovely Tuscan reds; Latium Morini is a family run winery with a passion for the Italian countryside and creating beautiful wines that reflect the magic of the Veneto region; and Fratelli Revello produces lovely age worthy wines through modern and natural practices.
Mocali Brunello di Montalcino 2013
Sangiovese – Tuscany
Rich, velvety and savory this Mocali Brunello di Montalcino is a gorgeous expression of Italian wine. Dominant dark fruit flavors of black cherry, blackberry and bramble blend wonderfully with the spice and tobacco flavors from three years of aging before release. Big texture and tannins will have mellowed from age creating more of a smooth and integrated beauty.
Latium Morini Amarone Della Valpolicella Campo Leon 2013
Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta, Croatina – Veneto
The grapes of the Latium Amarone Della Valpolicella are dried for about 100 days to create an intense, rich dark fruit flavor. Aged for about 40 months between large oak barrels and in the bottle, this smooth and elegant wine is vibrant and bold with notes of red berries, cherries, nutmeg, spice and vanilla.
Fratelli Revello Barolo Vigna Gattera 2015
Nebbiolo – Piedmont
Barolo is the King of Italian wines. The Nebbiolo grape is the first to bud and last to ripen creating big, bold and structured red wines. High in acid and tannins this wine would benefit from cellaring. With patience comes beauty – the Fratelli Revello Barolo is fruit forward with notes of black cherry, stewed fruits, cedar and tart raspberry.
