The beauty of the vineyard landscape of Piedmont’s Langhe region has stolen the hearts of many. The staggeringly beautiful scenery of this area has led it to be recognized and listed among the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Elvio Cogno was born into a wine-making family and has been cultivating vines for most of his life. Initially, he partnered with another highly-admired Barolo producer and also crafted wines that were served at a local restaurant. It wasn’t until the 1950s that Elvio decided to turn his dream into a reality. He acquired a farm in Novello in 1990. By rolling up his sleeves at the age of 60, he embarked on a new journey and started to craft high-quality wines that reflected the terroir of his homeland. Nadia and her husband, Valter Fissore, have worked alongside Elvio for over 25 years and helped him define the signature and traditional style of the Elvio Cogno Winery.

Today, Nadia Cogno and Valter Fissore craft exquisite Barolo and Barbaresco wines from the area’s indigenous varietals: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nascetta. These Piedmont wines are precise, pure, and elegant and have amassed praise from many European wine critics over the years.
