Discover Highly Rated Wines
In the world of wine critics, Robert Parker is THE reference. No other critic can boast such an influence over the wine world. His reviews are taken very seriously, especially when it comes to French red wines. Behind Robert Parker is a team of experienced tasters with whom he publishes his magazine Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. It was through the Wine Advocate that Robert Parker introduced the 100-point rating system, which is now the reference rating system. Although the American wine critic retired in 2019, his magazine remains one of the most influential in the wine world.
The Millesima team has put together the Highly Rated Gift Set, featuring three bottles in three distinct styles, but with one thing in common: high quality. Each of these three high-rated wines have earned a score of 94-95/100 from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, meaning that they are great wines with exceptional character and great complexity.
The Highly Rated Wine Gift Set contains three unique and exceptional bottles: Chateau Leoville Barton represents the quintessence of the Medoc region through wines that shine bright with great consistency and class, guaranteed to satisfy even the most demanding Bordeaux lovers; Lopez de Heredia is one of the largest wine producers in Spain and a prestigious reference in La Rioja; and Val di Suga, an estate with vineyards in different parts of the hill of Montalcino and the only one to own plots on three of the best Brunello slopes.
Chateau Leoville Barton Saint-Julien 2016 – 95+
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot - Bordeaux
Leoville-Barton 2016 has a dark and purplish color. The nose is fine and dense at the same time, with an aromatic character that is a bit restrained at the beginning. Swirling the glass awakens the wine, which provides nice fruity aromas of raspberry and crushed blackberry, along with a balsamic (cedar) character. The mid-palate is highly aromatic, with great drinkability and freshness, rather tense and juicy on tannins of great maturity and fine grain. The finish is elegant and long on the fruit.
Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva 2008 – 95
Tempranillo, Garnacho, Graciano, Mazuelo – La Rioja
Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva 2008 was qualified as very good by the DOC Rioja Board. The texture of this wine is light and fresh with notes of vanilla and dried berry aromas. On the palate, you can feel the richness and sweetness of this wine, with firm tannins and good balance
Val di Suga Brunello di Montalcino 2015 – 94
Sangiovese – Tuscany
The Val di Suga 2015 Brunello di Montalcino offers attractive energy and brightness that is transmitted through the cherry fruit and wild berry aromas at its core. That primary fruit is surrounded by light spice, grilled herbs and potting soil. There is a nice purity and linearity to this wine that reminds you of the natural depth and complexity of Sangiovese when given a bit of time to age.
