Description

The richness and generosity of a Paso Robles wine

The Law Estate Wines is California’s rising star that is located to the west of Paso Robles’ vineyard. It enjoys prime conditions for producing high quality wines and pays homage to the typical grape varieties of the Rhone Valley.

Don and Susie Law are both passionate about the particularity of Rhone grape varieties and the complexity of the blends. They decided to settle in the Paso Robles region after a long search for the perfect place. It was the diversity of the vineyard parcels connected to a particular terroir with microclimates and calcareous soils that convinced them to set up their estate near Peachy Canyon Road.

Audacious is a true benchmark of the estate. Each year it is a true success for both collectors and new fans. The Audacious 2013 from Law Estate Wines illustrates the continuity of this successful adventure with a blend of 39% Grenache, 36% Syrah and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.

A growing season with drought and low yields, but high quality berries, Audacious 2013 highlights the purity and power of the fruit. The 22 months of ageing in French oak barrels (60% new oak) allows the wine to develop its complexity and harmony.

At tasting, the Audacious 2013 from Law Estate Wines presents very concentrated aromas on the nose that center on the power of black fruit, blackcurrant and blackberry with dark chocolate notes that evolve into fresh hints of eucalyptus. On the palate, the attack reveals a beautiful and voluminous mouthfeel with ripe small fruit notes. Dense and structured, the tannins are pleasantly velvety with fine-grained finesse. There is a persistent finish that ends with lovely acidity. Audacious 2013 can be appreciated now. It also has good potential for ageing and promises to evolve from 2025-2030.
