Description
A Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast with Intense Dark Fruit Flavors
The Kosta Browne Winery was founded in 1997 by Dan Kosta and Michael Browne and Pinot Noir wines in the Sonoma wine region of California. The team sources grapes from various terroirs within three prestigious appellations – the Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley and Santa Lucia Highlands. Their portfolio includes a grand selection of Pinot Noir wines, from appellation wines to single-vineyard creations, both from family vineyards and the estate's own parcels. The Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2015 from Kosta Browne Winery is made from fruit sourced from a variety of family-owned vineyards in the Sonoma Coast appellation. The terroir here enjoys the positive effects of the Pacific Ocean, producing savory and slightly spicy wines with great structure. The grapes were fermented in a combination of stainless steel, open-top concrete and wooden vats with 2% of the fruit fermented in whole clusters. The aging was carried out 36% in new French oak for 14 months, 15% in wooden tanks and 1% in concrete tanks.
Kosta Browne’s Sonoma Coast 2015 Pinot Noir offers aromas of dark cherries, dark fruits and notes of citrus. It is a perfect representation of the Sonoma Coast terroir. In the mouth, the flavors are the same as the aromas: dark berries and lively fruit. Well-structured and full-bodied. The flavors of black plum and cherries are drawn out in its long and smooth finish.
