Chateau Cos Labory 2016: a Saint-Estephe with a harmonious and extremely complex finish
Chateau Cos Labory is a Fifth Classified Growth of 1855 from an 18-hectare vineyard located in the Saint-Estephe appellation. The vines have an average age of 35 years and are planted in Gunzian gravel on top of a marl-limestone base. The aging is done in oak barrels with a 50% proportion in new oak. The Chateau Cos Labory 2016 is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.
At tasting, the Chateau Cos Labory 2016 develops a splendid bouquet on the nose with black fruit (blackberries) and floral aromas. The wine has a balanced mouthfeel and offers a lovely acidity with tannins of great finesse. On the finish, the Chateau Cos Labory 2016 is harmonious and extremely complex.
