A Harmonious and Crisp Grand Cru from Saint-Estephe

A superb Classified Growth of the Saint-Estephe appellation, Chateau Cos Labory is one of those discreetly endowed properties that radiate charm among the great names of the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region.

The last few vintages have produced wines offering an excellent consistency of quality and a subtle blend of finesse and elegance with a delicious fruitiness.

Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (57%), complemented by Merlot (38%) and Petit Verdot (5%), the Chateau Cos Labory 2017 presents a brilliant purity and aromatic persistence. Very well structured, this wine highlights the technical nature of the winemaking carried out with the aim of revealing the best fruit on soft tannins, without excessive astringency. The nose opens with intense ripe fruit aromas, evolving fresh cedar notes that are typical of the terroir of Saint-Estephe. On the palate, the wine reveals great harmony, perfectly balanced with a soothing texture on the mid-palate, with a softness and crunch of fruit. Without becoming too powerful, the persistent length of the finish highlights spicy and mineral notes. A superb vintage for a delicious Cos Labory, with promising potential for age.

Parker : 90 / 100
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2017 Cos Labory is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and very fragrant and floral with red and black fruits, some spices and earth plus a waft of herbs. The palate is medium-bodied, soft, fine-grained and juicy with good expression and length.
