A complex and balanced red wine from Saint-Estephe
The estate
Located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Cos Labory owes its name to the word "caux", meaning "the stony hill", in reference to its location on the aptly named gravel hill "Cos".
The vineyard
Chateau Cos Labory 2021 is a Saint-Estephe wine made from an 18-hectare vineyard. The vines are planted in Quaternary gravel soils with remarkable drainage, allowing the vines access to water in the event of water stress.
Vinification and aging
Harvesting from September 27th to 29th (Merlot), from October 1st to 8th (Cabernet Sauvignon) and then on October 4th to 5th (Petit Verdot). The wine is aged in barrels, of which 50% are new.
The blend
Chateau Cos Labory 2021 comprises a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (33%) and Petit Verdot (7%).
