Wine Advocate-Parker : The 2017 Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard comes from own-rooted vines planted in sandy soils in 1915. Winemaker Tegan Passalacqua notes that other varieties planted in this old vineyard include Refosco, Carignane and Cinsault. Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, it opens with warm peach preserves, cinnamon stick and dried leaves hints with dried red and black cherries and notes of dried flowers. Medium-bodied, it gives pretty layers of dried fruits, flowers and spices in the mouth, with juicy acidity tethered by firm, fine-grained tannins, finishing very long and spicy. 1,000 cases produced.
