Description
Tasting profile and serving advice for Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Tasting
Nose
Dried rose, wild violet, red berries, crème caramel, and gentle spice from barrel aging mingle harmoniously in a rich, complex bouquet.
Palate
Broad and silky, the palate combines a beautiful core of fruit (blackcurrant, redcurrant, cherry, ripe raspberry) with a velvety texture and supple tannins. Persistent, the finish releases notes of pomegranate, kir royal, fresh flowers, and mint.
A powerful, refined Californian wine
The estate
For more than a century, Beaulieu Vineyard has been one of California’s most prestigious wine estates. An emblematic reference known to enthusiasts around the world, Beaulieu Vineyard epitomizes the classic style of great red wines from Napa Valley. Combining tradition and modernity, Beaulieu Vineyard’s wines faithfully reveal the expression of their native terroirs.
The wine
An emblematic cuvée among the great Napa Valley wines, Georges de Latour Private Reserve was born in 1936, a year marked by a devastating frost. While the harvest was small in volume, its quality was exceptional, with small, highly concentrated berries. Since that vintage, Beaulieu Vineyard’s Georges de Latour Private Reserve has established itself as an exceptional wine, unique for its concentration and structure.
The vintage
A warm, dry winter was offset by cooler conditions in late March. Mild spring weather preceded a summer of cool mornings and warmer afternoons. Despite the small berry size, the aromatic concentration, acidity, and balance are outstanding.
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (91%) and Petit Verdot (9%).
