Loca Linda : Malbec 2012

When one bottle of wine is not quite enough, and two bottles is a little too much, Loca Linda gives you the perfect one liter option. Loca Linda Malbec is grown in the Valle de Uco of Mendoza, Argentina, where the vines are planted in high density. This style of planting yields less fruit per vine, and thus more concentration per grape cluster. The vineyard boasts sandy topsoil over small pebbles with alluvial soil beneath. This allows for excellent drainage, causing the vines to dig deep for nourishment. The 2012 Loca Linda Malbec shows crushed black cherries, violets, and raspberries on the nose. A similar profile follows through on the medium bodied palate, finishing with soft tannins.
