The NV Champagne Reserve Rosé Brut is composed of 87% Chardonnay and 13% Meunier (still red wine produced from old vines in the estate vineyards). It’s based on the 2016 vintage, with 27% reserve wine from 2015, 18% from 2014, and 3% from 2013. Pouring an orange/salmon hue, the wine is savory with aromas of orange rind, sour cherry, and wild raspberry. It offers a lovely texture with a pillowy mousse, lovely fresh purity, a rounded feel through the mid-palate, and a ripe cherry blossom-noted finish. It’s creamy in its mouthfeel, with a crisp lift of fresh acidity on the finish. A very pretty wine with good length, it will provide a solid drinking window over the coming 8-10 years. It was disgorged in 2022 and has 5.9 grams per liter of dosage.

The Estate

Founded in 1912 by the Lhôpital family, the House of Champagne Telmont has seen generations of visionaries passionate about the Champagne terroirs succeed one another. In 2020, the French group Rémy Cointreau joined the Telmont adventure, guided by a shared ambition to preserve the terroirs through organic farming and to consolidate a large-scale eco-responsible project. It is also this innovative approach that led Leonardo DiCaprio to join the Telmont House as a shareholder. Meanwhile, Bertrand Lhôpital remains cellar master and vineyard manager, thus guaranteeing the quality of a family expertise spanning more than a century.

The Vineyard

The Telmont House spans 24.5 hectares in Damery, near Épernay in Champagne. Since 2017, the Telmont House has been certified Organic Farming for part of its plots. In 2022, the Champagne Telmont House has half of its land under organic farming.

Winemaking and Aging

This blended rosé undergoes classic vinification in stainless steel vats, without malolactic fermentation. After vinification, the rosé undergoes an extended aging period of five years in the cellar.
