Salon 2006

A Champagne with perfect structure

Exclusively produced during the great years, Salon is a Champagne elaborated with only Chardonnay. The release of each new cuvee is a very special event. The Salon 2006 is a romantic, lyrical champagne that spent 11 years in the cellars of Mesnil-sur-Ogier, in a silent and cool environment, before emerging, bright with youth.

After a sumptuous start to the summer, with magnificent weather in June and July, there was much to fear, with a very cold and rainy August. But the month of September offered splendid thermal amplitude with cool mornings and beautiful days. Finally, the grape harvest took place on October 2nd, with perfectly mature berries, and musts with fantastic sweetness and moderate acidity.

With its light-blond color and silvery green reflections, the Salon 2006 displays extremely fine and consistent bubbles, and releases beautiful aromas. The nose develops floral fragrances combined with the zest of citrus fruits and lightly toasted brioche. The secondary aromas reveal notes of fresh hazelnuts, pralines, dried apricots and ripe yellow fruits. This mysterious and charming wine is refined, generous, light and solid. The palate is perfectly structured and the fabulous and sweet acidity hints at great guarding potential, around thirty years. Consume before 2047.
