The refinement and minerality of a legendary Champagne
The estate
Founded in 1920 and led by Monsieur Aimé Salon, the family-owned Champagne house Salon is now part of the Laurent-Perrier group. Today, the house of Salon continues to share its ambitions and resources with its neighboring house, Delamotte. At the helm are Monsieur Didier Depond, alongside the talented cellar master Michel Fauconnet. Salon stands apart by creating a unique cuvée made exclusively from Chardonnay, sourced from a single Champagne terroir (the Côte des Blancs), a single cru (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger), and a single exceptional vintage.
The wine
Produced only in outstanding years, Salon is an exceptional Champagne, and the release of each new cuvée is a true event. The 2008 vintage perfectly embodies the subtle blend of minerality, structure, and balance that the greatest Champagne terroirs bring to an exceptional cuvée.
The vintage
A mild winter preceded a wet spring, with particularly cold weather in early June during flowering. Despite the impact of these conditions on yields, fruit set was even. While August was mild, September proved gloomier. Despite this unpredictable weather, the harvest yielded grapes of exceptional quality.
Blend
This 2008 Vintage Champagne is 100% Chardonnay.
