Description

The richness of a vintage Brut Champagne as a tribute to the 200th anniversary of the Henriot House

The producer

Founded in 1808, the Henriot Champagne House has been growing Chardonnay grapes, from the Côte des Blancs, with passion, high and exacting standards for 8 generations. This noble grape variety will later become the defining style of each of the Henriot vintages.

Henriot champagne, greatly appreciated by the Dutch Court, would later become a leading brand among European aristocracy.

Henriot champagnes stand out due to their finesse, their exceptional elegance, their complexity and their radiant richness, thanks to a specific ageing period and a quantity of reserve wines for each cuvée.

The vineyard

Comprising a 35-hectare vineyard, the champagnes by the Henriot Champagne House are partly produced from the most beautiful Premiers and Grands Crus terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims.

The vintage

Good weather conditions led to the harvesting of high-quality, fully ripe grapes with a freshness reminiscent of the House's finest vintages. An ideal harvest during the bicentennial of the Henriot House (1808 - 2008) which has produced an exceptional champagne.

The blend

The 2008 Brut Millésimé Champagne by Henriot has been blended from a dozen or so crus, all classified as Premiers and Grands Crus. The blend of this Brut Millésimé is composed of 50% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and 50% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs.

The dosage is 6g/l.

Once bottled, the Brut Souverain is kept for 6 years in the cellars of the Henriot Champagne House.

Brut Millésimé Blanc 2008: Characteristics and tasting tips

The tasting

Colour

The colour is a subtle golden hue. Reflecting a long ageing period in the cellars, the beautiful effervescence offers very fine and regular bubbles.

Nose

The nose reveals a rich aromatic bouquet dominated by notes of citrus and yellow fruit (vine peach, nectarine). Mineral notes and floral notes evoking the scent of white flowers mingle with silky, gourmet notes of honey and candied lemon.

Palate

The palate is the perfect expression of this exceptional vintage, namely freshness and lightness. The balance is ideal between the flavoursome aromas of fresh citrus fruits (grapefruit, apricot, citron) and the notes of fruit jelly, while keeping a beautiful minerality. The finish is persistent, delicate and fresh.

A well-structured Brut Millésimé, with a mineral and aerial palate, a guarantee of an exceptional ageing potential.

Food and wine pairing

The Brut Millésimé 2008 by the Henriot Champagne House will perfectly express all its finesse and minerality with grilled fish (turbot, sea bream, sole).

Service

For an optimal tasting experience, the recommended serving temperature is 9-10°C.
