Description
An exceptional champagne paying tribute to the Aÿ terroir in Champagne
The estate
The Henri Giraud House continues a family heritage that began in 1625 in Aÿ, making this house one of the oldest in Champagne still run by its founding family. Led by Emmanuelle Giraud, representing the 13th generation of the Giraud-Hémart family, the House is renowned for its aging in Argonne oak barrels, a tradition reinstated by Claude Giraud in 1990.
The vineyard
This Hommage cuvée is crafted exclusively from grapes sourced from the prestigious Aÿ Grand Cru terroir, renowned for its exceptional ability to showcase the nobility of Pinot Noir. This outstanding Champagne terroir benefits from exposure and soils particularly well-suited to the expression of this emblematic grape variety.
Winemaking and aging
Vinification in oak barrels for 7 months followed by 3 months of maturation in enamelled steel tanks. An additional minimum aging of 3 months on lees is carried out before release.
Grape variety
Hommage d'Henri Giraud is made exclusively from Pinot Noir (100%).
