Discover Sauvignon Blanc Wines
Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine grape from western France, now successfully grown in emerging and established wine regions all over the world. The key selling point of Sauvignon Blanc is its straightforward nature – the flavors are rarely hidden away in the background. Also, there is a particularly close correlation between the perceived flavors and their descriptors, making Sauvignon Blanc an ideal wine with which to begin wine tasting lessons.
The Millesima team has selected, for the Sauvignon Blanc Gift Set, bottles with the best expressions of the variety from different leading wine regions of the world. Loire Valley, the historical production area of Sauvignon Blanc, where we will find what we consider to be the best expressions of Sauvignon: fresh, precise and complex wines. Bordeaux, where it is usually blended with Semillon and Muscadelle, especially in Graves and Pessac-Leognan. And the Western Cape, Marlborough is by far New Zealand's most important wine region and it is particularly famous for its pungent, zesty white wines made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety.
The Sauvignon Blanc Gift Set contains three unique bottles: Domaine Vacheron, in the Loire Valley, today run by the third winemaking generation of cousins, adopted complete biodynamic practices in both the vineyard and cellar in 2005; Chateau Suduiraut, Premier Cru Classé of 1855, is one of the historic vineyards of Sauternes; and Dog Point Vineyard is a prestigious wine producer based in Marlborough, in New Zealand's South Island.
Domaine Vacheron Sancerre 2020
Sauvignon Blanc – Loire
The Domaine Vacheron Sancerre Blanc 2020 is a pleasant, elegant and straightforward wine. It exudes a beautiful maturity, with aromas of white flowers, yellow fruits, citrus and minerals. The palate is clean, full, ripe and elegant. Although fruit and white flower aromas are predominant, they are complemented by a refreshing minerality and acidity. The finish is persistent and fresh.
Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc - Bordeaux
Delicious and fresh, the Blanc Sec de Suduiraut offers great pleasure even in its youth. The 2018 vintage has a light-yellow color with green highlights. The nose reveals notes of white flowers, followed by aromas of pear, anise and a touch of hazelnut. The palate is smooth and fresh, with notes of citrus and pear. The finish is long, expressing flavors of lemon and anise, along with a nice salinity.
Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Sauvignon Blanc – Western Cape
The citrus core of the Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2020 is juicy and intense with a deliciously refreshing saline acidity. The wine calls for simple and fresh seafood, but can also be enjoyed as a pre-dinner aperitif with or without social distancing. One of the best vintages the region has experienced in years.
