Route du Van : Dolcetto Shiraz 2010

The Route du Van Dolcetto - Shiraz blend comes from Victoria, Australia. Victoria is the most South Eastern of the six states of Australia, and is where the city of Melbourne is located. The grapes for this wine are sourced from three different valleys. Dolcetto, which makes up 70% of the blend, some from a combination of King's Valley and Alpine Valley, while the remaining 30% of Shiraz is sourced from the Goulburn Valley. The wine is balanced with fine tannin and a fresh acidity. On the nose, savory characteristics of spice, licorice, earth, and mushroom are complimented by sweet wildflowers and black cherries. This complexity echoes on the palate when notes of ripe berry intermingle with spice and earth. The Route du Van Dolcetto - Shiraz is a mouth filling delicious wine with a long balanced finish.
