Description
Ar. Pe. Pe , short for Arturo Pelizzatti Perego, is a historic estate in the rugged terrain of Valtellina in northwestern Italy, directly on the border of Switzerland. Known for producing world-class Nebbiolo , the subregion Grumello is a site with high concentrations of slate and limestone in the soil, which provide lovely finesse and minerality to the ArPePe Grumello Riserva Buon Consiglio. This 100% Nebbiolo is aged in large oak vats and then held in bottle for years prior to release. Nothing is rushed in the winery, as the ageing process is well above the requirements to achieve optimal development and proper expression of terroir. The ArPePe Grumello Riserva Buon Consiglio 2001 displays red berries, dried flowers and tobacco. Mature notes of leather, earth and dried herbs fill the palate and linger throughout the long, elegant finish.
