Chateau Montrose
Classified as Second Classified Growth in 1855, Chateau Montrose is located in the prestigious Saint-Estephe appellation. The Chateau takes its name from the rose-pink color of the heather that covers hill, or ‘mount’, of the chateau. With a soil consisting of deep gravel, the vineyards are planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon. Chateau Montrose perpetuates the tradition of power and density of the "classic" style of the great Saint-Estephe wines. Intense, massive and complex they develop concentrated flavors of ripe fruit, spices and tobacco.
