Raen Winery’s Sonoma Coast Royal St. Robert Cuvee is an homage to Carlo and Dante Mondavi’s grandfather. The Pinot Noir vines are planted on the hills of Sonoma Coast. The St. Robert cuvee is aged for 10 months in neutral French oak barrels. In the nose, aromas of strawberries, rose petals, forest floor and thyme develop. A beautiful success from the Californian winery.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir Royal St. Robert sings of pomegranate, black cherries, red plums and tilled soil with suggestions of mossy bark, fertile earth, underbrush and chocolate box plus a faint hint of dried herbs. Medium-bodied, in the mouth it has a wonderfully refreshing line and plush frame supporting the intense layers, finishing long and earthy.
