Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Côte de Beaune Village 2023 by Louis Jadot
Tasting
Appearance
The wine reveals a bright ruby-red hue of medium to deep intensity, adorned with subtle purple highlights.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with scents of fresh red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry. With aeration, floral notes of peony and violet emerge, accompanied by spicy touches, a discreet hint of undergrowth and delicate vanilla and toasted nuances.
Palate
The attack is supple and inviting, dominated by fruit. The mid-palate, medium-bodied, displays a fluid texture supported by fine tannins and refreshing acidity. The finish, with beautiful persistence, lingers on fruity and spicy aromas, with light hints of liquorice and perfectly integrated oak.
Food and wine pairings
This red wine pairs ideally with roast poultry, white meats or grilled and slow-cooked red meats. It also perfectly accompanies fine charcuterie platters, mushroom-based dishes, as well as soft or semi-pressed cheeses such as Brie, Camembert or Reblochon.
Serving and cellaring
For optimal tasting, it is recommended to serve this Côte de Beaune Village 2023 at a temperature between 15 and 17 °C. Decanting for thirty minutes to one hour is beneficial in its youth. This wine can be enjoyed now and will continue to evolve favourably until at least 2029.

The estate
The family's winemaking history began in 1826, but the Louis Jadot trading house was officially founded in 1859 in Beaune, Burgundy. Now owned by the Kopf family and chaired by Thomas Seiter, the house operates a vast estate vineyard of 125 hectares. Renowned worldwide, it stands out for its ability to offer a range covering nearly all Burgundy appellations. Strongly committed to an environmental transition, the estate favours sustainable practices to preserve the purity of its terroirs.
The vineyard
The grapes destined for this cuvée come from several villages of the Côte de Beaune, such as Savigny-lès-Beaune, Chorey-lès-Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses. The vines thrive on terroirs with predominantly limestone and marl soils, offering ideal conditions to express all the typicity and delicacy of this geographical area.
The vintage
The 2023 vintage was marked by relatively warm climatic conditions in Burgundy. However, welcome cooler periods allowed the berries to reach optimal ripeness while retaining a fine balance and preserved acidity.
Vinification and ageing
The vinification of this Côte de Beaune Village 2023 is carried out in the traditional way in vats. The wine then benefits from moderate ageing in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months, with a limited proportion of new wood in order to preserve the brightness of the fruit and the finesse of the structure.
