Tasting
Color
This wine displays a white color, typical of a dry white Burgundy.
Nose
The nose opens on ripe apple and pear, brightened by lemon zest and hawthorn blossom. Subtle spicy notes, reminiscent of bitter orange marmalade and a touch of vanilla, mingle with mineral and saline nuances evoking crushed stone, oyster shell and toasted walnut, giving the bouquet remarkable precision and complexity.
Palate
The palate is medium-bodied, driven by lively acidity and a taut mineral backbone. Flavors of lemon curd, white pepper and clementine unfold alongside green lime and kiwi, carried by an impressive attack and a long, saline finish that lingers with striking energy and verticality.

The Estate
Domaine Génot-Boulanger was founded in 1974 in Meursault, Burgundy, by Charles-Henri Génot and Marie Boulanger, a Parisian couple who left their pharmacy to pursue winemaking. The estate now spans 22 hectares across the Côte Chalonnaise, Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Today it is run by Aude and Guillaume Lavollée, the fourth generation of the founding family, alongside winemaker and technical director Nicolas Ludwig. Certified organic since 2018, Domaine Génot-Boulanger follows a philosophy of meticulous vineyard work paired with minimal cellar intervention.
The Vineyard
This wine comes from the "Bouchères" climat, a premier cru vineyard located within the renowned belt of Meursault crus, bordered by Genevrières, Poruzots and Gouttes d'Or. The site sits on a steep, southeast-facing slope, with soils combining limestone and clay close to the bedrock. The vines are farmed organically, in keeping with the estate's commitment to sustainable viticulture.
Winemaking and aging
For Meursault 1er Cru "Bouchères" 2023, the grapes are hand-harvested and pressed as whole clusters for a gentle extraction of the juice. The wine is then aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels, around 20% of which are new, before spending an additional 6 months in stainless steel tanks to refine its texture and preserve its mineral tension.
Grape Varieties
100% chardonnay.
