The estate

Founded by Anne-Françoise Gros in 1988, Domaine A.F. Gros spans some of the greatest terroirs of Pommard and Vosne-Romanée. Anne-Françoise Gros and her husband, François Parent, joined their estates together to farm 10 hectares at the heart of the birthplace of the greatest reds of the Côte de Beaune, the Côte de Nuits, and also Beaujolais. Today, their children Mathias and Caroline have joined the adventure alongside their parents, devotedly carrying on their precious legacy.

Renowned worldwide for the outstanding quality of its wines, the Gros-Parent family crafts superb cuvées in very limited quantities.

The vineyard

Located at the heart of the finest Burgundy appellations, Domaine A.F Gros's Richebourg cuvée comes from vines aged 5, 25, and 75 years. Dating back to the Jurassic period, the clay-limestone soil, brown or reddish in color and about forty centimeters deep, is light and gravelly. In full respect of the terroir, the vineyard is farmed traditionally following sustainable principles (soil plowing, selective pruning, leaf thinning, and green harvesting).

Winemaking and aging

Domaine A.F Gros harvests exclusively by hand. Winemaking takes place in enamel-coated concrete vats as well as wooden vats. A cold maceration (5°C) lasting 3 to 5 days enhances the extraction of aromas and color. The wines are aged for several months in old 500-liter barrels.
