Richebourg is a Grand Cru appellation of the Côte de Nuits, which extends over 8 hectares in the heart of the Vosne-Romanée commune. The vines of Richebourg are planted on fairly thin calcareous brown soils on the top of the hillside, and deeper calcareous soils at the bottom. The soils are based on the hard limestone subsoil of the Premeaux. The Richebourg appellation produces only red Pinot Noir wines, which reveal aromas of small red and black fruits, flowers, spices and vegetal notes. The wines of the Richebourg appellation show power, delicacy and sensuality. They often offer exceptional aging potential, sometimes ranging from 20 to 30 years.
