Description
A multi-vintage wine case expressing the beauty of Tuscany
Biondi-Santi's Brunello di Montalcino wine was the very first in history. Tenuta Greppo has only produced 38 vintages of Riserva since 1888, making each release a true work of art.
Each vintage of Riserva truly expresses the weather conditions throughout the vintage and the unique terroir. This 3-bottle case comprises 3 vintages: 2011, 2006 and 1995.
The weather conditions throughout the 2011 vintage were rather warm and the summer months were hot and dry. The grapes were harvested earlier than usual, on September 8th, and they were perfectly ripe. The 2011 vintage of this Riserva wine reveals sun-drenched fruity flavors along with alluring spicy notes. This wine is intense and boasts a promising aging potential.
The 2006 vintage enjoyed warm weather conditions throughout the growing cycle, but not excessively so. The grapes were harvested during the middle of the month of September. This 2006 Riserva wine offers an impressive structure along with a lively acidity, a characteristic of the Tuscan Biondi-Santi estate. This wine is well-balanced and elegant.
The summer of 1995 was hot and dry, however, a rainy period during the month of September meant that the team postponed the grape harvest to October 3rd. This fine 1995 Riserva bottling has been aging gracefully and perfected its expression. This wine is deep, utterly elegant and showcases a velvety expression.
