Antinori - Pian Delle Vigne : Key Points

Owned by the historic Antinori family since 1995, Pian delle Vigne is located 6 km south of Montalcino, above the River Orcia, 40 km from Siena in the Tuscany region of Italy. The name of the estate comes from the old railway station, typical of the 19th century, located on the estate and still in use today.

The Pian delle Vigne vineyard covers 184 hectares, 65 of which are planted with vines, with the remainder divided between olive groves and woodland. The vineyard is entirely dedicated to Sangiovese, the star black grape variety known as Brunello in this part of Tuscany. The vines are planted on clay-limestone soils at an altitude of between 130 and 250 metres above sea level, with excellent south-east exposure.

The wines of the Antinori Pian Della Vigne estate are renowned for their aromatic intensity, the great minerality typical of their terroir of origin and the elegance of their tannins, the quality of which only improves with age.
