Description
An elegant and fresh Chianti Classico Antinori - Peppoli
Located in the heart of the historical Chianti Classico DOCG appellation, between the villages of Radda in Chianti, Ruffoli, Greve in Chianti and San Polo in Rosso in the Tuscan region of Italy, the Antinori - Peppoli estate produces Chiantis Classico wines that have become essential references known all over the world.
Located in a small valley with rocky soils, rich in minerals and nutrients that reflect the heat of the day, the vineyards of the Antinori - Peppoli enjoy an unusual north-eastern exposure and are planted with Sangiovese, the emblematic red grape variety of the area. First marketed in 1988 for the 1985 vintage, the Chianti Classico Antinori - Peppoli 2014 is one of the flagship wines of the estate.
Made from a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot and Syrah, this Chianti expresses the specificities of each grape variety in a vintage noted for its elegance, due to temperatures that were colder than usual.
The Antinori-Peppoli 2014 reveals a ruby-red color with violet hues, typical of Chianti Classico wines. On the nose, the olfactory palette combines delicate floral notes of rose with the intense freshness of red berries, upon aromas of violet and cherry. The nose evolves with aeration to reveal smoky notes that testify to their maturation in oak. On the palate, the wine expresses all the characteristics of Sangiovese, with a frank attack full of flavors. The tannins show a superb texture, supple and velvety. The finale is quite vibrant, ending on a pleasant mineral freshness. An elegant Chianti Classico to enjoy now, which can also be kept until 2020 or 2025.
