Tasting
Color
The wine shows a deep ruby robe with vivid crimson highlights.

The nose opens on ripe red and black fruit, layered with floral nuances and a subtle touch of Burgundian earth.
Palate
On the palate, firm yet finely etched tannins are balanced by lively acidity, leading into a long, harmonious and mineral-driven finish.
Food and wine pairings
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted game, noble poultry dishes, fine charcuterie, and well-aged cheeses.
Serving and cellaring
The Vosne-Romanée Village "Aux Réas" 2023 can already be enjoyed in its youth, but its structure allows for extended cellaring, with a potential of ten to fifteen years, drinking well through 2033 to 2038.
Vosne-Romanée "Aux Réas": a structured expression from the Domaine A.F. Gros
The Estate
Domaine A.F. Gros was created in 1988 through the union of Anne-Françoise Gros, heir to a historic Vosne-Romanée winegrowing family, and François Parent, hailing from Pommard. Today the estate farms around 10 hectares across Pommard, Vosne-Romanée, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Moulin-à-Vent, in Burgundy. Leadership has passed to the next generation, with Caroline Parent-Gros overseeing management and sales, and her brother Mathias in charge of the vines and winemaking. The estate is recognized for deep, elegant pinot noirs built for aging, shaped by sustainable viticulture and traditional winemaking refined by targeted innovation.
The Vineyard
The "Aux Réas" cuvée comes from a single climat located at the southern tip of the Vosne-Romanée appellation, bordering Nuits-Saint-Georges. Covering roughly 1.6 hectares, it represents the domaine's largest holding within Vosne-Romanée, planted entirely to pinot noir. Following the 2022 harvest, around half a hectare was replanted in 2023 after a rootstock issue was identified, reflecting the estate's close technical attention to the long-term health of this parcel.
The Vintage
The 2023 growing season allowed the grapes in Aux Réas to reach full ripeness, resulting in a harvest marked by elevated maturity levels at picking.
Winemaking and aging
For the Vosne-Romanée Village "Aux Réas" 2023, grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before a short cold maceration helps extract color and aromatics gently. Fermentation takes place in vats, with malolactic conversion completed in barrel. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for around twelve months, with a measured proportion of new wood that supports structure while allowing the terroir's character to remain clearly expressed.
Grape Varieties
100% Pinot Noir.
