The style of Chateau Troplong Mondot in an exceptional vintage
When an excellent vintage meets the savoir-faire and terroirs at one of the most prestigious properties of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, the result goes beyond one's highest of expectations.
Chateau Troplong Mondot presents its signature estate wine, the Chateau Troplong Mondot 2015, which will doubtless join the ranks in becoming one of the region’s true legends. Made from a blend of 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, the Chateau Troplong Mondot 2015 perfectly expresses the excellence of its rare clay-limestone terroir, located at the top of the Mondot hill, facing Cote Pavie, on a plateau overlooking the picturesque village of Saint-Emilion.
The Chateau Troplong Mondot 2015 presents a deep dark red color with purple reflections. The aromatic palette is dazzling with the purity of its fragrances, constantly evolving with notes of ripe fruit, cherry, creme de cassis and spices. All of the richesse of Merlot expresses itself on a palate concentrated with flavor and offering tannins with superb density. A very classy wine from a remarkable vintage!
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Blended of 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak, 85% new, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Troplong Mondot is redolent of warm plums, blackberry tart and blueberry pie with suggestions of underbrush, bay leaves, cedar chest and lavender plus a waft of baking spices. Full-bodied and full-throttle in the mouth, the palate is decadently packed with a solid core of black and blue fruit layers, supported with firm, grainy tannins and finishing with loads of spicy layers. This pedal-to-the-metal beauty is the ultimate indulgence for the hedonists!
