Characteristics and Tasting Notes for Château La Tour Figeac 2025
Tasting Notes
Color
True to the estate's signature style, this red wine displays a deep, concentrated color, reflecting beautiful maturity without excessive opacity.
Nose
The property's typical aromatic profile offers an expressive bouquet dominated by red and black fruits such as cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant. This is often enhanced by nuances of licorice, spice, forest floor, and delicate mineral touches.
Palate
True to the identity of this cru, the palate favors elegance over sheer power. The texture is silky and harmonious, carried by soft tannins, ending on a wonderfully fresh finish.
Food and Wine Pairing
This vintage pairs beautifully with tender meats such as beef filet, roasted veal chop, or duck breast. It will also wonderfully complement mushroom-based sauced dishes, forest-style poultry, or roasted root vegetables.
Serving and Aging
Château La Tour Figeac 2025 boasts a fine structure that gives it excellent aging potential. It can develop favorably in the cellar for around fifteen years, or even longer.
The Finesse and Complexity of a Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion
The Estate
Born in 1879 from the separation with the lands of Figeac, Château La Tour Figeac is a leading family-owned property in France, located in the Bordeaux region. Acquired by the Rettenmaier family in 1973, the estate is now managed by Otto Maximilian Rettenmaier. This Grand Cru Classé quickly distinguished itself through its environmentally conscious approach, becoming a pioneer of biodynamic farming. The cru is renowned for producing wines that combine purity, elegance, and an authentic expression of its terroir.
The Vineyard
Located on the border of Pomerol, this single-block vineyard of approximately 14.5 hectares enjoys a privileged position within the Saint-Émilion appellation. The vines thrive on a rise composed of gravel and sand resting on deep clay soils. This exceptional terroir, surrounded by illustrious neighbors, is cultivated with a high planting density and maintained mechanically, without any chemical herbicides, in the strictest respect of natural balance.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes undergo meticulous parcel-by-parcel winemaking, favoring punching down for gentle, even extraction. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels. The aging of Château La Tour Figeac 2025 lasts approximately 15 months, combining the use of wooden vats and stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruit's vibrancy and the delicacy of the tannins.
