Description
The year 2000 allowed Krug's famous Clos d'Ambonnay to express its full potential. This exceptional vintage, made from Pinot Noir and aged for 15 years in the house's cellars, has a balance of aromas, which linger on the palate and leave an impression of elegance. Adorned with a straw-gold colour which shimmers with brightness, the nose has a nice complexity, expressing notes of caramel that progressively evolve into fragrances of brioche and spices. On the palate, the wine dazzles us with its freshness and delicacy. Conveying flavours of tarte tatin and pastry cream, ultimately its long, lemony yet precise finish enchants the palate. Note that Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 2000 is the fourth champagne from this exceptional terroir, following the vintages 1995, 1996 and 1998.
