The estate
A family estate for five generations, the J.L. Vergnon Champagne House exalts, through its cuvées, a wonderful alchemy of tradition, passion for the terroir and authentic expression for the flagship grape variety of Champagne: Chardonnay.
The vineyard
The J.L. Vergnon vineyard is made up of Grand Crus of the Côte des Blancs and Premier Crus of the villages of Vertus and Villeneuve in Champagne. The estate oversees a vineyard of around 20 plots, run in a sustainable manner and certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale – High Environmental Value) 3.
The wine
Hautes Mottes Blanc de Blancs Grand cru 2013 is a Brut Nature champagne that stems from plots in Mesnil-sur-Oger.
Winemaking and ageing
Ageing on lees in 300-litre French oak casks. Ageing for 7 to 8 years in the cellar before disgorging. No dosage.

Tasting
Colour
The colour, of a deep golden yellow, is graced with fine bubbles.
Nose
The nose, first dominated by notes of lemon biscuits and white flowers, evolves into spiced touches and scents of yellow flowers and chalk.
Palate
Graced with a silky texture, the saline and chalky palate lasts through a long finish.
