Description
The richness and elegance of a vintage champagne
The property
Since its establishment in 1818 by the couple Elisabeth Salmon and Nicolas-François Billecart, the Champagne Billecart-Salmon House has remained independent, preserving for 7 generations the entirety of its expertise and the demand for the quality of its cuvées.
The vineyard
The vineyard of the Billecart-Salmon House stretches from the Côte des Blancs to the Montagne de Reims over nearly 100 hectares. The vines are cultivated and cared for in a traditional way to approach an authentic fruit and reflect the quality of the Champagne terroir.
The wine
This Vintage 2013 from Billecart-Salmon is made from 85% Grands and Premiers crus from the emblematic terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne. Its dosage is 3g/liter.
Vinification and aging
Following vinification in tanks, this vintage champagne 2013 is aged on lees for 89 months.

Pinot noir (62%)

Tasting
Color
The color is a beautiful pale gold, adorned with brilliant yellow reflections.
Nose
Intense, the nose harmoniously blends fruity fragrances with notes of fresh hazelnuts and pomelo flesh. As the aeration unfolds, bakery notes (raw butter, lemon cream) are revealed, supported by a suave freshness.
Palate
The palate seduces with its precision, its fruity expression (blueberries and cherry clafoutis) as well as its creamy texture. Complex and refined, the palate stretches to a delicately structured finish.
Storage
This exceptional champagne can be stored in the cellar between 8 and 10 years in bottle format and more than 10 years in magnum.
Food and wine pairings
A sea bream ceviche or even a pan-fried foie gras are refined pairing suggestions with this vintage champagne.
Service
For optimal tasting, serve at a temperature between 11 and 12°C.
