The wine shows a pale ruby colour. The nose is discreet and benefits from aeration. It reveals notes of bird cherry, sweet cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry (with a slight hint of strawberry jam) and crushed redcurrants, combined with floral touches of violet and cornflower, a delicate spicy edge (white pepper, nutmeg, a hint of liquorice) and toasted nuances, as well as a smoky, mineral note (graphite) in the background. The palate is airy, fruity and enveloping, with lovely freshness, a tangy acid-driven framework and a pleasing bitterness. It expresses notes of sweet cherry, with bird cherry in the background, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, blueberry and ripe raspberry, alongside floral touches (violet, a hint of rose), spicy notes (nutmeg, white pepper, liquorice), woody nuances (toasted hazelnut, a hint of smoke and coffee), and a graphite mineral thread that emerges on the finish. The tannins are velvety and polished, well built. Good length with a pleasant bitterness.
