Description
The Villa di Geggiano Chianti Classico is a full ad complex expression of Sangiovese, which makes up roughly 97% of the blend, with a small addition of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines, which are farmed organically, are harvested by hand and the grapes are then crushed and transferred to stainless steel tanks where fermentation begins spontaneously. After fermentation the wine is aged in French oak barrels, approximately 10% of which are new. A dark ruby red, the Villa di Geggiano Chianti Classico shows notes of black cherry and floral elements along with spice elements. Roughly 1,250 cases are produced each year.
