The estate
A Premier Grand Cru Classe of Saint-Emilion, Chateau Valandraud shines bright among the most beautiful properties of the appellation. Offering a remarkable value for price, the Virginie de Valandraud cuvée is made from a selection of younger vines from the estate.
The vineyard
The Chateau Valandraud vineyard comprises 12 hectares of vines in production, planted in clay-limestone and siliceous-gravelly soils. The vines are 30 years old on average.
The winemaking
Manual harvest. Aging lasts 18 to 22 months in 100% new barrels.
The blend
The Virginie de Valandraud 2020 is made from a blend of Merlot (80%), Cabernet Franc (15%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%).
