A First Classified Growth of Saint-Emilion, Chateau Valandraud shines bright among the most beautiful estates of the appellation.
The vineyard
The Chateau Valandraud vineyard has 12 hectares of vines in production, planted in clay-limestone and siliceous-gravelly soils. 7 hectares of vines are dedicated to the development of this Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé. The vines are 30 years old on average.
The winemaking ang aging
Manual harvest. Aging for 18 to 24 months in 100% new barrels.
The blend
The Chateau Valandraud 2020 is made from a blend of Merlot (90%), Cabernet Franc (7%), Cabernet Sauvignon (3%).
