Clerico, standing among the greatest names of the Barolo, remains above all the story of one man, Domenico Clerico who started wine production back in 1976. Although vine pulling were common at that time, he bought a vineyard on an exceptional terroir, the Bussia, and produces its own Barolo Bricotto Bussia. Then other great fine wines were created at his behest: The Ciabot Mentin in 1981, the Pajana in 1990, le Percristina in 1995. Another challenge will be taken up in 2006 with the creation of the Aeroplanservaj. Today the Domenico Clerico Estate includes 21 hectares of vineyards and produces 110,000 bottles every year. Their wines are often awarded by the most famous international publications.
