The 28-hectare vineyard of Chateau Quintus is perched on a plateau southwest of Saint-Emilion.
The mild, dry winter led to an early bud burst on March 22. The cool spring temperatures slowed the vine cycle and flowering took place on May 27 for the Merlot. The year 2019 was then marked by a hot and dry summer, which enabled a homogeneous veraison and full ripness of the fruit in time for the harvest, which took place under impeccable sanitary conditions.
The 2019 Quintus is deep red with purple reflections. Intense, powerful and complex, the nose releases aromas of black fruit as well as subtle spice notes. On the palate, the attack is broad and juicy, giving way to a full-bodied and smooth palate. The finish is long. The harmony of Merlot and Cabernet Franc lends a certain roundness and freshness to this 2019 Chateau Quintus.
