Chateau La Mondotte is a wine estate dating from the 19th century. Since recently, this Premier Grand Cru Classe of Saint-Emilion has been managed by Stephen Von Neipperg. From a German family immersed in the world of viticulture for almost 8 centuries, Stephen von Neipperg manages La Mondotte with great personal passion and talent.
La Mondotte has a small 4.5-hectare vineyard east of Saint-Emilion. The 60-year-old vines are planted in a mosaic of terroirs, with silty clay soils on a rocky subsoil.
Vinification in oak vats. Extraction by pneumatic punch-downs. 35 days of vatting.
Aging in new French oak barrels (70%). Aging on fine lees.
