Chateau La Mondotte: a Saint-Emilion with well-integrated oak
The Chateau La Mondotte is a Premier Grand Cru Classe B red wine with organic certification. The 4.5-hectare vineyard grows on the clay-limestone plateau east of Saint-Emilion. Aging is done in barrels (70% in new barrels) on fine lees for an average of 18 months. The Chateau La Mondotte 2016 blend is made of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
The Chateau La Mondotte 2016 reveals a red color with purple hues. It offers fruity aromas (red cherry, blueberry, prune) and has well-integrated oak. On the palate, the attack is silky and tannins are present. The tannins extend to the very end of the finish. Best to enjoy the Chateau La Mondotte 2016 from 2021-2022.
