Description
The freshness and balance of a fine Saint-Emilion red wine
The estate
A Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Chateau Grand Corbin was founded in the 19th century. This great right-bank estate has successfully revived its prestigious past. Managed by Philippe Dambrine, Chateau Grand Corbin is one of the top estates in the appellation.
The vineyard
Chateau Grand Corbin 2021 is a Saint-Emilion wine that is made from a 28.5-hectare vineyard. The 40-year-old vines are planted on a silica soil upon a bed of blue clay.
The vintage
Marked by an unstable climate, 2021 is a winemakers’ vintage which, thanks to the team's meticulous work carried out throughout the vegetative cycle as well as during the vinification process, has given rise to a unique wine that exudes finesse and freshness.
Vinification
Hand-picked from September 27th to October 5th. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (40% new, 40% second-fill and 20% third-fill).
The blend
Merlot (80%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Cabernet Franc (5%).
