Rich Rosé by Veuve Clicquot: a fresh and complex champagne
The Estate
Now a globally successful brand, Veuve Clicquot traces the history of a Champagne house whose legend was built thanks to a woman: Madame Clicquot. A brilliant woman, she boldly established herself in the business world, becoming in just a few years “La grande dame de la Champagne.” Driven by an innate sense of innovation and a relentless quest for perfection, she invented the riddling table and pioneered the first blended rosé Champagne. Veuve Clicquot has made this uncompromising standard its motto: “Only one quality, the very first.” The Champagne Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin House became a pioneer by deciding to dress its bottles with a yellow-orange label, the model of which was registered in 1877.
The Vineyard
Owner of 390 hectares, Veuve Clicquot boasts one of the largest vineyards in Champagne. This vineyard is also exceptional for its quality, as it is spread across 12 of the 17 Grands Crus and 20 of the 44 Premiers Crus of Champagne.
The Wine
In summer 2024, Veuve Clicquot unveils its new RICH and RICH Rosé cuvées, to be enjoyed very chilled or on the rocks. This unique approach invites champagne lovers to experience a new tasting moment.
The term “RICH” appears in the House archives at the end of the 19th century to designate bottles intended for the British market and to distinguish sweet champagne from dry. The first mention dates back to March 1876, in a letter to a London merchant detailing an order including dry and “RICH.” Its dosage is 55 g/L.
