The producer
Founded in 1812, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne House reached its golden age in 1948, thanks to Bernard de Nonancourt's dynamism. Under the leadership of this visionary businessman, the house stood out by producing vintages that reflected its values of excellence and innovation.
Since its very beginnings, the house has built its identity around Chardonnay. Through the freshness and finesse that it brings to the blend, this grape variety has become the signature style of this Champagne reference.
Laurent-Perrier's avant-garde approach is reflected in Grand Siècle and its multi-vintage blends, its Ultra Brut with a "zero dosage" style and also its Cuvée Rosé, the first rosé champagne in this category. These original "breakthrough" cuvées, each creation being subject to an event, mark a new page in the history of Laurent Perrier and its quest for excellence, for which it is internationally renowned.

The vineyard
The Cuvée Grand Siècle is made from a selection of 11 of the 17 Grands Crus of the Champagne region. The Cuvée Grand Siècle is made from the prestigious vineyards of the Côte des Blancs: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Cramant and Oger, and from the Grands Crus vineyards of the Montagne de Reims: Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy, Mailly and Tours-sur-Marne.
The wine
Grand Siècle by Laurent-Perrier is a prestige cuvée that focuses on the blend and not on the vintage. Laurent-Perrier pushes the blending requirements even further and believes that it is possible to recreate the perfect oenological year, one that would conjure up the ideal balance between the different organoleptic properties.
Vinification and ageing
Grand Siècle Itération n°23 by Laurent-Perrier is aged on lees for 14 years. This cuvée has a low 7g/l dosage.
The blend
The Cuvée Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Itération n°23 comprises a blend of Chardonnay (58%) supplemented by Pinot Noir (42%). This blend is made from 11 Grands Crus from 2006 (65%), 2004 (20%) and 2002 (15%).

The tasting
Colour
The colour of Grand Siècle Itération n°23 by Laurent-Perrier resonates with the freshness of spring, with its brilliant light yellow colour adorned with very fine bubbles.
Nose
The bouquet is complex, blending notes of candied citrus fruit, honey, summer flowers and some toasted notes.
Palate
Following a gentle attack, Grand Siècle Itération n°23 gradually reveals all its freshness, length and tension in a silky and lush mouth.
