The Oddero Barolo Villero comes from the village of Castiglione Falletto and is grown on a southeast facing hillside where the 100% Nebbiolo vines average more than 50 years of age in a parcel of approximately eight tenths of one hectare. It is aged for 30 months in enormous, traditional oak barrels before bottling. Around 300 cases of Oddero Barolo Villero are produced each year. This Nebbiolo is characterized by its power and concentration - the tannins and structure along with its concentration will allow the Oddero Barolo Villero to age for a very long time

Wine Advocate-Parker : The 2006 Barolo Villero is less expressive and more closed in on itself than the Rocche, but that is to be expected. Sensual dark spices, menthol, minerals, black cherries and plums come together beautifully in this firm, old-style Barolo. The finish boasts considerable power and richness. Patience is the key, but the future certainly seems bright for the Villero. Anticipated maturity: 2021-2036.
