Description
The Organic Lieu-Dit Wine Specialist of Meursault
Founded in 1830, Domaine Roulot was brought to fame by 5th generation Guy Roulot and Geneviève Coche. Together the duo built up the Domaine's number of choice village parcels, bottling them separately to showcase their singular personalities. After Guy’s sudden death in 1982, son Jean-Marc Roulot, split his time at the Domaine in Meursault and pursuing his acting career in Paris. In 1989, Jean-Marc took control of Domaine Roulot and continued the legacy. The Domaine has long been known as a lieu-dit specialist and has recently transitioned to organic in 1989. Domaine Roulot continues to showcase each vineyard separately to highlight the unique expression of each cru in a bright and focused yet elegant expression of their wines that has set the winery apart from others in Meursault.
This particular wine has a brisk and stony bouquet with touches of apple and limestone. The palate is fresh and lively with strong acidity throughout ending in a tender finish. Its elegance and amazing precision lend to long aging in the cellars. Jean-Marc and his wife Alix de Montille (daughter of famous Volnay producer, Hubert de Montille) love cooking, and believe the strong mineral backbone of the and fresh acidity of this wine pairs well with food.
