Description
The Delaille family has been at the helm of Domaine du Salvard since 1898. For five generations the family has created simple, elegant and terroir driven wine. Today, brother duo Emmanuel and Thierry Delaille manage the 42 hectares of land with guidance from their father Gilbert. Situated in the quaint appellation of Cheverny in the Loire Valley, Domaine du Salvard has been able to craft more excellent everyday wines than their famous French counterparts Sancerre and Pouilly Fume.
Domaine du Salvard grows lively, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc in sandy, clay and limestone soils. The cooler continental climate allows for ideal growing conditions for the grape to ripen evenly and retain the refined zippy acidity we all love in a French Sauvignon Blanc. Domaine du Salvard also produces youthful fruit forward red wines from Pinot Noir, Gamay and Cot, the local name for Malbec.
The Domaine du Salvard Unique Sauvignon Blanc is elegant and refined. Notes of lemon, orange zest, lime and floral open up to a clean, fresh and refreshing palate. The wine is vinified and aged only in stainless steel allowing it to retain the young, juicy energy and a touch of minerality. The wine is a crisp, approachable and food friendly. Enjoy as an aperitif or with salmon and vegetables.
