Pascal Cotat

One of Sancerre’s most famed producers, Pascal Cotat, works one of the most challenging (and treasured) vineyards in Sancerre, Les Monts Damnes. The vineyard which roughly translates to “the damned mountains” is named for its dangerously steep slopes composed of the greatest soils in the appellation, Kimmeridgian limestone. Left behind from ancient sea beds over 150 million years ago, the soils lends a distinct minerailty and texture that produces one of the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world
